ACME NH3 Thread Couplings

Thread Couplings

Continental NH3 (Anhydrous Ammonia) Thread Couplings are manufactured in a complete range of sizes for most NH3 applications. Threaded couplings are used in NH3 operations including to-and-from storage, field nurse tanks and applicators. Thread couplings feature a superior hand tightening arrangement, eliminating the need for hammers when securing a tight fit. The ACME nut shell is made by using rugged lightweight aluminum casting molded around a steel insert, or with ductile iron to ensure strength and reliability. A steel lock ring positions the nut for fast handling and the protection of the sealing surface of stem. Can't find a pipe threaded coupling that fits your application? Contact Continental NH3 today and we will get your perfect female or male threaded couplings for your application.

Locking Collar. Continental NH3 Products is very proud to introduce the revolutionary locking collar for acme fittings. When engaged, it’s locks onto the hex portion of the acme adaptor to prevent the acme coupling from loosening due to twisting or vibration. Currently available for 1” & 1-1/4” pipe threaded couplings with 1-3/4” acme fittings it easily locks to most standard acme fittings and can be installed into any 1” & 1-1/4” valve. 2-1/4” acme will be available in soon. The spring loaded lock collar keeps the collar in place when in use and easily retracts when you need to remove it. It doesn’t take but one time for an acme coupling to come lose in the field to see how beneficial the locking collar can be. You can virtually eliminate the concern of the coupling loosing or even completely unscrewing from the nurse tank. Once you try it we think you will love it.

ACME Threaded Fittings

Continental Safety Couplings combine a rugged lightweight aluminum casting with a steel insert, insuring strength and reliability for a high flow extension coupling. These acme couplings were designed to reduce the undesirable flashing of liquid on the operator when making connections. They also provide a more convenient arrangement when tank fitting guards present a hook-up problem. Continental safety couplings are commonly referred to as "long" female ACME to male thread couplings.
